January 18, 1940- November 14, 2023

P.S 115 Family,

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of "Granny" on November 14th. Through mourning, we celebrate Granny's life! Granny was a pillar and our foundation of P.S 115. I met her when I first arrived as a newly minted Principal in 2018, and she greeted me with a beautiful, loving smile. That was all I needed to know about her. She was everyone's "Granny." She was dedicated to serving our children and families of P.S 115. She was nurturing and treated every child like her own. Granny was truly the definition of Love for all who got a chance to know her and serve our children alongside her. Granny served our children as early as 1994.

We love you, and we celebrate your life.

MISSION

The mission of P.S.115K is to ensure that all children reach their potential by setting high expectations and achieving academic excellence. We will create a family environment where our children trust, respect, and value each other on their educational journey. We ensure diversity and equity of voice through cultural celebrations and restorative practices. We will work collaboratively to ensure that students will be college and career ready by engaging them in rigorous instructional programs geared to meet the needs of each student. We will encourage opportunities for responsible, informed decision-making by working to promote student to teacher engagement and student to student discussion.

VISION

Our P.S. 115 Family is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment that fosters a community of life-long learners. Students will be equipped with the academic foundation which includes the tools and knowledge to ensure college and career readiness. They will be independent thinkers whose educational journey has provided them with choice to achieve their goals. Students will be responsible citizens who appreciate and respect diversity as they become successful contributors to their communities and to the world.
